In the morning your private driver will pick you up at the villa and drive you to Bergen. In Bergen you will meet your local expert guide who will tell you Bergen's fascinating history and take you on a full day private tour of the city normally starting at "Bryggen". This is the old wharf of Bergen dating back to medieval times when Bergen was an important city in the Hansa trade union. Bryggen is a UNESCO's World Heritage Site. On this tour you will also visit St. Mary's Church. This is Bergen's oldest building and was the church for the Hanseatic merchants. Having seen the church you will be taken on a short walk in the old town with its small wooden houses and narrow cobbled stone streets. Here you will be invited into one of these unique private homes for a traditional Norwegian lunch.

After lunch you will take the funicular train to the top of Mount Fløien with its magnificent view of the city and the surrounding mountains and fjords. Down again in Bergen, your guide and driver will take you out of Bergen to Troldhaugen, which is the home of the world renowned composer Edvard Grieg. Here at this wonderful, tranquil place, you may visit his private villa and see where he composed his wonderful music. In the afternoon your driver will bring you back to Villa Sortland. |
